Höjden is an artist-driven, non-profit platform, workplace, community, and syndicate for freelance cultural workers and artists in Stockholm. Since 2018, we have been based in Östberga, offering a stage, dance studio, gallery, music studio, ateliers, office spaces, library, as well as kitchen & bar, spaces that together form a meeting place for the field, on cultural workers' own terms. Today we are around 100 members, of various ages and at different stages in their careers, with networks extending far beyond Stockholm.
In the independent cultural field you often find both the most precarious and the most vital part of cultural life. Höjden is a place where independent cultural workers find security, continuous work context, and collegial togetherness. By having many people share the rent, we keep prices down for everyone, made in solidarity, to make it possible for more people to be members of Höjden.
Want to become part of Höjden? As a member, you get 24/7 access to shared office spaces, a well-equipped kitchen, discounted workshops, and the opportunity to book our 100 sqm studio from 50 SEK/hour. Membership costs 250 SEK/month, whether as an individual or through a company. If you want your own atelier or office, those can also be rented; email info@hojden.house for available spaces.
As an audience, you are always welcome to our performances, exhibitions, parties, and festivals, open to anyone who wants to take part in the free sector.
