Welcome to ‘Staged’ with Ellen Söderhult, Karina Sarkissova, Tova Gerge and Unn Faleide. This second iteration of the choreographed conversation series will take the form of a panel discussion on erotic form and content in dance and choreography.

Thursday November 13th, 19:00-21:15

RSVP to stagedconversations@gmail.com

The conversation is free to attend and there will be something to eat.

The discussion will be moderated by Oda Brekke. The conversation series takes off from a set of performance directives introduced in the beginning of each evening.

Ellen Söderhult is a dancer and choreographer based in Stockholm. Her choreographic works have often taken on the collective as protagonist (Rudy, Shane et al, How to do things with Romance: a prologue, DUNKA DUNKA), but also explored monstrous emotions and textures in sweet-bitter love (GROV) and the ghostly in the relationship between dancer and dance (Spökdanser, Blessika). With a background in choral singing and sports, she often works with voice, enveloping soundscapes and big leaps. Ellen is educated at Bollnäs Folk High School's music line and on the bachelor's programmes in contemporary dance and circus at DOCH / Stockholm University of the Arts.

Karina Sarkissova is an independent curator and dramaturge based in Uppsala and Stockholm. She graduated in 2012 at the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam (SNDO) and in 2019 at Dutch Art Institute (DAI). Karina is together with Kajsa Wadhia artistic directors for Köttinspektionen Dans. Karina is a cofounder of höjden in Östberga, a space for artistic production. Karinas practice is dramaturgical, choreographic and curatorial; she is working with other artists’ work and develops choreographic contexts.

Tova Gerge works with text and performance. Has two MAs, one in Dramaturgy from Stockholm University of the Arts and another in Performing Arts from Paris 8. Interested in themes like power, body politics and subversive intimacy, and methods like prerecorded voice instructions, interactive game design, score-based movement and improvised conversations. She is member of the performing arts collective Nyxxx, the publishing house Dockhaveri and the artist-run production platform Skogen.

Unn Faleide is a Stockholm-based dance artist, curator, and producer whose work explores the intersections of movement, visual arts, and critical curatorial practice. With a background in international performance, including several years with Cullberg, and a Master’s in Curating, her practice engages questions of identity, authorship, and structural conditions in the arts. She works independently and as a producer at MDT, focusing on alternative modes of production, collaborative processes, and the decolonial potential of curating in and through dance.

höjden is located on the ground floor. Wheelchair ramp and accessible toilets are available.
