Notes on Broadway

I keep returning to the Broadway musicals of the 1970s. Behind their theatrical polish, I sense a tension between entertainment and instability, a quality that feels unexpectedly familiar today.

It is not only a time of glamor and escapism but rather an entertainment of the grotesque and obscure. I feel drawn to what slips through, the horror and make up beyond the beauty. 

This sharing offers an early glimpse into a work that will premiere in Helsinki in December 2026.
